Chiefs smokin BBQ in West Virginia

"What a thrill to be driving through an unfamiliar area and come across a roadside jewel of a bbq joint. I had delish brisket on a bun with a side of mac n cheese. I tried both sauce and preferred the red. Both were a little too sweet for my taste—I prefer a little more zing—but were pretty good. The staff was super friendly with quick service. I can tell you that the staff takes great pride in both their food and their facility. I ate at a picnic table in their lot—there’s no indoor dining—and it was a little noisy eating along WV-2 but I did enjoy the smell of the wood fired smoker and interacting with the friendly staff. All three staff I encountered engaged with me asking about my meal/experience. Highly recommend!"

"This place is amazing. Literally drove an hour just to eat here. The people here are always super nice and friendly with a hint of good humor. The food is great...and takes me every bone in my body to not max out a card here. I pass alot of decent bbq places but I might only come here. Never change!"

"All of the food we had was good!! We had pulled pork sandwiches, Mac & Cheese, potato salad, coleslaw & baked beans. The baked beans were our favorite side!! The seating is outside & they have a fire pit to sit near if it’s cool out. Definitely stop by and grab a meal if you’re nearby."

"Rocky's slop bucket is super good i went with the pork and I'm not sad about it.. The people are friendly. Good atmosphere with the fire outside. Ill be back to try the ribs. "I stopped by here the other day with my gf. They were friendly and opened the door for us and took our order. We got 3 pulled pork samiches 2 sides of potato salad and 2 sides of mac n cheese. I definitely recommend ya come to try their food! The potato salad is hefty and something special. The sauces they use for the pulled pork were an awesome mix of tangy sweet and for a pretty fair price. Will definitely come back :)"

"Place was great. The Brisket and Pulled pork was delicious. Ample serving sizes. I recommoned the 50/50 bbq sauce and throw some coleslaw on the sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious too. Will definitely make the 1.5 hour trip to get it again."

"I can not tell you how many times I have driven by this place in the last two years. Today on my way home to Wheeling I saw the BBQ sign flying and the smoke rising so I decided to stop. It did not take me long to choose The slop bucket, for myself I ordered the pulled turkey that was placed atop a mound of Mac n cheese I was given a choice of mustard BBQ sauce or sweet bbq. I will always choose mustard. Since I was on my way home I picked up the brisket slop bucket for my hunny. Boy was he happy! We sat at the table together and raved about how delicious every morsel was. We will be eating from Chiefs again that is for certain."
